World’s Most Popular Ski Resorts
While the government of Great Britain and some other investors are planning to build the world’s biggest ski resort in England which is going to be located in the suburb of London – Stratford, and while in Denmark one of the world’s largest ski centres is going to be opened in 2015, the ski lovers can enjoy their time skiing along the excellent slopes in the best indoor resorts of the world all year round.
In total there are about 50 indoor ski centres all around the world. But most of them are concentrated in Europe. There are over 30 centres of such kind. One of the most popular is Snow Arena. It is a wonderful winter park for families and friends. The ski park is situated in Druskininkai, Lithuania. It can host almost a thousand visitors in its walls. Three ski tracks of different complexity are situated on the territory of Snow Arena, the height of the hills is up to 66 meters, the incline is up to 25%. The snowboarding zone of Snow Park with plenty of springboards is a perfect place for both skilled sportsmen and beginners. There’s also a fun park for children, numerous attractions, a skating rink, and snow labyrinths.
United Arab Emirates is a country which is known all around the world for its huge projects and unique ideas. No wonder that one of their projects – Ski Dubai – has surprised the world. This is the only ski resort of such kind in Near East. Beside ski tracks of the excellent quality for skiers and snowboarders, one can find everything there: snowball, skating rinks, sledge tracks, ice caves, and even the track for tobogganing. Bottrop, a town in Germany, is famous for the longest indoor ski track which is situated in Alpincenter Bottrop. Two huge ski tracks are located here. Their total length is 640 meters which is a record one as well. Professional skiers usually prefer to slide down the slope of 580 meters long, and beginners and kids master their skills on the 50 meters long track. Besides, a large rope park, a paintball field, a sledge track and a cosy café are available here.
Warm and sunny Spain invites the ski and snowboard lovers to have a rest in the indoor ski centre SnowZone. It is the only ski centre of such kind in the country. It is situated in the shopping-mall Madrid Xanadú, in the suburbs of Madrid. More than 200 boutiques and stores, a ski park with 10 tracks of different level of complexity, kids winter attractions, 15 cinema halls, a bowling club, a golf field, plenty of bars, restaurants, cafes and snack bars are situated in this shopping-mall. So, a casual shopping day turns into a holiday time for the whole family.
One more indoor ski resort is situated in Vuokatti, Finland. The name of the resort is Ski Tunnel. It doesn’t look like other indoor ski resorts because it is situated in a tunnel. A lot of slalom stars from all over the world train and have a rest here. Due to the modern computer technologies a special microclimate and a constant temperature are created here.
